The sea around Bonaire and Klein Bonaire – the Bonaire National Marine Park (BNMP) – is protected and managed by STINAPA. The Marine Park surrounds the entire island from the high water mark to the depth of 60 meters (200 ft). All activities in the Bonaire National Marine Park are subject to payment, including SCUBA diving and other water activities, the so called Nature Fee.
By paying the Nature Fee you provide the funds to manage the nature protection and conservation around Bonaire. Your payment of US $ 45,00 as a diver, or US $ 25,00 as a non diver, covers admission for one calendar year to the Bonaire National Marine Park.
The dive tag also allows you the entrance into the Washington Slagbaai National Park free of charge by showing the written receipt of purchase of your tag and a picture ID. This can be your pasport, driver’s license, etc. Copies are also accepted. Non divers have to pay the admission fee of US $ 20,00 to visit the Park.
You can buy these tags online via the webiste of STINAPA and at all dive schools on Bonaire.
